I am going to review Stella’s Kitchen restaurant. I will also share the full menu that Stella’s Kitchen serves in their restaurant. Stella’s Kitchen is located at 18 Horswood Rd, Lysterfield, Melbourne, Victoria 3156. It is a bit far from CBD Melbourne but we guarantee that you will love the vibe and the food. If you drive a car, it might take you about 40 minutes from CBD Melbourne to Stella’s Kitchen.

Stella’s Kitchen was named after the Montague family matriarch Stella. This restaurant gives people a new dining experience surrounded by big fields and a fruit farm. It is also just a walking distance from Lysterfield Park. This means, that after you’re done eating, if you want, you can enjoy a good walk at Lysterfield Park.

Stella’s Kitchen offers people a good variety of Western foods. According to Restaurant Guru, the menu in Stella’s Kitchen is inspired by her favorite recipes. You can enjoy the fresh food and fruit that are coming from the orchards that she owns. If you sit close to the window, or even better outdoors, you can enjoy the beautiful view of their lawn.

What is the menu of Stella’s Kitchen?

They have a lot of different food to offer. All of them are Western fusion food. I think the price of their food is quite pricey. However, I understand their choice of price because, first, their food is tasty. Second, their location is perfect if you are looking for a place far from the loudness and business of the city and are craving for a peaceful environment.

What to order at Stella’s Kitchen?

Well, it depends on what kind of food you’re keen to try. For me personally, I always have a special spot in my heart for gnocchi. So when I saw the menu, I knew that I had to try that.

The dish on the left was called three-cheese baked gnocchi and the price was around AUD 38. The three-cheese baked gnocchi in Stella’s Kitchen was a vegetarian dish. A suitable dish for you if you don’t eat meat. It tasted very cheesy but in a good way. The portion was not too much, but because I generally eat just a little, I had some leftovers that of course, my husband finished. The gnocchi was topped with a sprinkle of red powder which I didn’t know what, but it tasted a bit sour and fresh. I loved it. It gave the gnocchi a unique touch. Makes it different from the gnocchi I tried from other restaurants.

My husband ordered the dish on the right which I believed was called a New Orleans beef brisket burger. It was probably one of the best burgers we have ever tasted. The beef was very tender and juicy. The sauce they used for the burger was top-notch! We highly recommend you try it if you love the taste of tender and juicy meat. The french fries also tasted good. We ate it by dipping the chips in my gnocchi sauce. The gnocchi sauce made the chips taste even better.

What drink is good at Stella’s Kitchen?

We only ordered 1 drink because as I said, I generally just eat in a little portion. So, I can already imagine if I ordered a drink, I would not be able to finish both the drink and the main menu. Which is why, only my husband ordered a drink. We ordered fresh apple juice.

Just like its name, it tasted very fresh with a hint of natural sweetness from the apple. I highly recommend you to try it, because I believe the apples come straight from their fruit farm, which was located very close to their restaurant. Three words to describe the juice, I love it.

What dessert do you recommend at Stella’s Kitchen?

I have a hard time choosing the dessert because all of them seem to be good. Because of that, I asked the waitress which dessert was her favorite one. She immediately answered churros. So I trusted her choice and ordered the churros.

I was very glad that I asked for her recommendation because the churros tasted fantastic. The chocolate sauce was not overly sweet and the cream was very fresh with a hint of sour flavor. The strawberry and blueberry were fresh. I would re-order the churros when I am coming back to Stella’s Kitchen.

How is the serving time at Stella’s Kitchen?

We hate to tell you guys but to be honest, the serving time is a bit slow. I came during lunchtime at about 12.30 PM. At that time the restaurant was packed with people. We came from the back door, as opposed to the front door, and immediately sat at an empty table that we saw. Please mind that there were only probably 4 empty tables at that time. We felt lucky because we got a table close to the big window where we could see the view of the field outside.

However, someone suddenly came and asked whether we had booked the restaurant or not. At that time I just realized, turned out, most of the people who came there already booked their seats in advance. So I said, I haven’t made any reservation. Then the man, who I assumed to be the store manager, assisted us to the front door and asked us to wait and see what the other waitress could do for us. I was worried. I didn’t want to wait an hour for the seat because I was already hungry. But thankfully, after 3 minutes of standing and waiting, the waitress asked us to sit at a new table which was unfortunately far from the big window. But that’s okay, as long as we can immediately order, that’s all that matters.

Then we saw the menu for about 10 minutes and ordered our food. As I already told you, I ordered one three-cheese baked gnocchi, one New Orleans beef brisket burger, one fresh apple juice, and one churro for the dessert. I meant it when I said I was already hungry. So my suffering continued because I had to wait for about 40 minutes until our food finally came.

However, I think the waiting time was worth it if I compared it to the food I got. I liked all of the food. I enjoyed the taste of every bite I took. So the long waiting time was not a big deal for me.

Is Stella’s Kitchen worth visiting?

Yes and no.

Yes if you like to eat in a new area with fusion food that tastes delicious. A big yes if you enjoy dining while seeing the beautiful scenery of the orchards and greenery park. Not to mention, there’s a small lake that we believed was man-made. But remember, you can only enjoy the view if you get to sit outside or sit by the big window. Also yes if you live close to CBD and don’t mind driving a bit far to Stella’s Kitchen restaurant.

No, if you are trying to eat on a budget. We are going to be very transparent here, the price is a bit expensive. All of the main dishes in Stella’s Kitchen are mostly over AUD 30. Also no if you dislike fusion Western food. If you prefer Indonesian food, we recommend you visit Kedai Kampung restaurant instead of Stella’s Kitchen.
