Me as a working woman always gets exhausted while finding the perfect dinner for these “Picky Eaters”, therefor I always look for quick and easy meal options that are kids friendly. Not to mention, catering to kids’ ever-changing taste can cause so much frustration and anger so I always try to combine their favourite foods with new ingredients that could expand their plate and taste both. Eating healthy supports your child’s growth and development and may even play an important role in his mental health growth. It is important to note that nobody is ever born with the junk food craving, it is us parents who let our kids rush for junk food. Kids only crave unhealthy foods when they are exposed to more unhealthy food options. The reason behind making our kids addictive to junk food is that mothers don’t have time to cook food for their kids and they would prefer to give them unhealthy junk food just to save their time. It is also noticed that junk food has been treated as a reward for kids for so many years, you might have heard parents say things like “if you stop crying I am gonna give you some chocolate”. YES! This is exactly what needs to be stopped. We must know that setting junk food as a reward for some good behaviour can develop a constant need of junk food in your kids, since we are associating the junk food with happiness, indirectly. The sooner you include healthy nutritious foods in your child’s diet the easier it will be for them to develop a relationship with healthy foods. Turkey Burgers Ingredients 2 tablespoon chilli paste 1 tablespoon grated ginger 1 tablespoon soy sauce 2 small fine chopped onions 1 lb grounded turkey 2 tablespoon for olive oil 4 slited buns 5 tablespoon mayonnaise 1 tablespoon of lemon Instructions Lightly toast the buns from all sides In a bowl whisk together the mayonnaise, chilli paste, soy sauce, grated ginger and lemon Cook the grounded turkey with the prepared paste until turns brown Spread the mixture on top of bun and cover it with the other side Your happy quick turkey burger is ready! 2. Quick Mac n cheese Ingredients 4 tablespoon butter 1/4 cup flour 1 cup whole milk 2 garlic clove 12 oz crushed cheese 8 oz American cheese 1 lb macaroni Instructions Heat the medium sauce pot with salted water, add pasta and boil it until soften In another large sauce pot melt butter and sprinkle flour on melted butter, cook for 1 minute While whisking stir whole milk slowly into the pot Add cheese to sauce and stir until melted completely Add the boiled pasta into the sauce and cook for 2 to 3 minutes Your delicious Mac n cheese is ready to be served 3. Chicken Noodle Soup Ingredients 2 lbs chicken breasts Salt and pepper as per taste 4 medium carrots 2 stalks celery 2 garlic gloves 1 chopped onion 2 large sprigs fresh dill 6 cup chicken broth 2 cup egg noodles 1 cup frozen peas Instructions On the bottom of a 5 to 6 qt slow cooker, season the chicken with salt and pepper, top with carrots, celery, garlic, onion and dill Add the chicken broth and cook for at least 3 to 4 hours on low flame Remove the large dill stems Cut down the chicken in to small pieces Add noodles to the cooker and cook the mixture on high flame Add the chicken pieces and peas into the cooker and cook for 12 to 13 minutes Enjoy the delicious chicken noodle spoon 4. Cauliflower Fried Rice Ingredients 2 small cauliflowers 2 tablespoon vegetable oil 1 orange pepper 1 thinly sliced scallion 2” piece ginger 2 tablespoon soy sauce 2 tablespoon chilli garlic paste 2 tablespoon honey 4 large eggs 1 cup frozen peas 1 cup frozen edamame Lime for serving Instructions Cut the cauliflower into pieces and transfer the cauliflower to the food processor bowl Crush the cauliflower until looks like rice Heat 1 tbsp of oil in to large pan and add ginger garlic paste, scallion, salt and pepper and cauliflower In another small bowl whisk together the soy sauce with garlic paste and honey In another bowl beat 2 eggs and add sauce paste and cauliflower with peas Cook the ingredients for at least 5 minutes and serve the delicious cauliflower rice Miscellaneous healthy eatinghealthy foodhealthy food ideaskids foodquick and easyquick dinner recipe
